Post High School Development Academy

US Coaches Club's 'Post High School Development Academy' is designed for the aspiring student athlete that needs more time to develop either in the classroom, on the pitch or a combination of both. This program has been created with advice and guidance from some of the nations top soccer minds with experience coaching in high school, college and the professional game. With a good balance of academics and soccer, you will live and train like a professional soccer player while continuing your academics and preparing you for the next step in your journey.

All student athletes are enrolled in a 10-month program which will develop and further strengthen their - Academics, Technique, Tactics, Physicality or Social well being. Or also know as the 'A.T.T.P.S.' approach. This program will enhance all the areas needed to be successful on and off the pitch, whether you are pursuing a career in intercollegiate athletics in the USA or furthering your academic and playing career in the United Kingdom.

Our approach will teach various international coaching methodologies used by some of the worlds most prestigious clubs and coaches, but also expose the athletes to various domestic and international scouts. Our unique curriculum is tailored to develop the players who might be late developers, have been overlooked, or simply are unsure of what option to take, thus this year round program gives more time to develop.

Academics

Students will be enrolled in a college classes at a local 2 of 4 year school where they will start, or continue their journey towards earning college credits, which will satisfy many of the general education requirements should they want to pursue an education within the United States. For the students looking to enroll in the program in the United Kingdom, they will be enrolling in classes that will satisfy the entry criteria for admission to a 3 year bachelors degree with a 1 year optional masters.

Students who are unsure of what they would like to pursue a degree in, or unsure of what career field they want to choose, will be enrolled into a variety of classes that will essentially give them a thorough understanding of what the specific field of study looks like. This will reduce the likelihood of students changing their major. Thus, staying within the 4 year timeframe of graduating with a bachelors degree.

Our guidance counselors will have an in-depth discussion with the students to thoroughly understand what areas of interest the students have.

 Technical Training

Without TECHNIQUE, there are no tactics. Developing and refining the core essential technical elements of the game are an important process in the transition to understanding and executing the tactical methodologies. Within the specific technical timetable, all players will have 5 technical training sessions per week.

Tactical Training

During the course of the year, all athletes will be trained in various systems of play within several different scenarios. Each quarter, the athletes will train and play in two different systems of play encouraging a thorough understanding of not simply numbers or positions, but roles and responsibilities of their specific function within the system. All systems will include attacking, defending and transitional elements. After graduating from this program, each athlete will be able to hold an educated conversation with their future coach either in the USA or abroad.

(Physical) Strength and Conditioning Training

Each athlete is given a customized training plan specific to their own individual needs. The S&C curriculum is designed to develop the athletes specific role on the pitch. On addition to the individual plan, there will be team trainings in the gym 2-3 times per week.

Each student will have a customized nutritional plan which consists of what and what not to eat throughout the course of the week, pre and post competitive competition.

Social well being

As with any post high school higher education and athletic program, developing responsible young men and women is a top priority. Without a successful foundation of responsibility and humble values, there can be cracks in the foundation of any aspiring elite athlete. Given many of our athletes travel overseas to further their academics and sports dreams, we have to ensure each and every individual are excellent ambassadors for our program as well as their respective communities and families.
